Since 1974, John and Susan have specialized in Sri Lanka and our personal relationships with the people and dynamics related to gem production in the Ratnapura district. With our local partners we buy rough or cut stones to process locally in a BOI-approved lapidary. We helped establish this in 1997 and have trained over four thousand skilled cutters (and counting) to help put Sri Lanka at the forefront of colored stone cutting on a large scale.
